Vehicle brought to Chevrolet dealer for recall# N252494000 at 27,626 miles. Vehicle passed inspection and oil replaced per recall. Despite engine passing and recall complete the engine failed at 29,861 miles requiring an engine replacement which was provided under warranty. The failed engine was taken by GM.

The front intermediate exhaust pipe mounting bracket weld fractured at the engine manifold, causing the exhaust pipe to break completely loose. We can now actively smell raw exhaust fumes inside the passenger cabin while operating the vehicle, creating an immediate safety hazard for carbon monoxide poisoning and driver disorientation.
