The dealership diagnosed the truck after investigating a ticking noise and engine misfire. This report is related to NHTSA EA26005 Investigation. My 2025 Tahoe had an engine failure while on a trip. The speed was approximately 55 mph. The SUV was in L9 transmission setting driving up a slight grade on the highway. The engine RPM was approximately 2,000 RPM. Driving my vehicle on the interstate at 70mph when the transmission made a hard downshift and brought my wife, two children, an infant and toddler, and I to a very sudden 40mph.Before I was able to find a shoulder to pull over the transmission fluid overheated and vehicle would no longer change gears. I then towed it to the dealership where purchased originally. Vehicle was then towed to and diagnosed at a Chevrolet dealership where ultimately resulted in a valve body and clutch failure.
