2025 TOYOTA TACOMA

Filed Sep 3, 2026

Few months back, the driver side door handle broke on the inside. There is some plastic piece/mechanism that attaches the door handle to the cable on the inside of the door that allows the user to open the door, with resistance from the cable. That piece broke, so it made the handle loose and flimsy, unable to open the door from the inside. Toyota said that was a known issue and that the parts were on backorder, so they just swapped the handle from my back passenger driver side door with my…

Fire

I was driving 9/3 and my left blinker light came on solid. I was not using my blinker. Within a few seconds my check engine light came on and another light. Then within 2 minutes the front left engine/tire caught fire.

2025 TOYOTA SEQUOIA HYBRID

Filed Sep 3, 2026

Interior door handle broke, driver side. Vehicle is just over a year old with 7K miles. Apparently Toyota has confirmed this is defective part, the item is currently back ordered and I'm at 10 plus days waiting for a replacement. This prevents a safety hazard on exiting the vehicle in an emergency.

2021 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER

Fire

On August 24, 2026, my vehicle was parked, turned off, and locked for more than 6 hours in a parking lot. Without warning, the vehicle experienced a spontaneous thermal event/self combustion. The fire and thermal damage were entirely localized to the dashboard area inside the passenger cabin. The engine compartment, battery area and front mechanical components remained completely unaffected by the fire. The vehicle was off, motor was cold and car was closed and parked for about 6 hours when…

2022 TOYOTA RAV4

Filed Sep 3, 2026

Idling, received a warning of engine stopped. steering power low. Trying to restart the car - it would start up then immediately shut down w/ the same error. Letting it sit for 15 minutes allowed it to reset and start again. It was raining at the time, wind shield wipers were on if that matters.

2018 TOYOTA C-HR

Filed Sep 3, 2026

The car suddenly started shaking and making a weird noise and it turns out the transmission went out. I know I’m not the only one with this issue.

2021 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER

Filed Sep 3, 2026

At 57,000 miles the dealership says the transmission must be replaced. Toyota refused to replace it under warranty because they stated it wasn't serviced at Toyota consistently. There isnt a service for the transmission under 100k miles. This is a known issue with this transmission and they act oblivious to this issue.

2026 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID

Crash

While driving in the early AM, rear ended a mid year model Tundra. Swerved to avoid the 3 car pileup. Crushed in drivers side front quarter panel. Air bags did not deploy. Early warning and emergency braking didn’t engage

2019 TOYOTA AVALON

Filed Sep 3, 2026

While driving the vehicle and stopped at a red light or stop sign, the vehicle failed to accelerate when pressing the gas pedal. I pulled to the curb and turn off the car. After I start the car again, it will work fine. The vehicle has failed to accelerate several random times while driving and stopped at a light or stop sign causing a hazardous situation. The last time it occurred was on September 1, 2026. It has happened three times prior to this date also. No vehicle codes or warnings lamps…

2021 TOYOTA 4RUNNER

Filed Sep 3, 2026

While vehicle was parked and not in use, upon entering the vehicle, the steering wheel/column dropped out of its locked position on its own. Disassembly of the steering column revealed that the tilt-lock mechanism's steering lock fracture bolt has broken in half on the right side. This cause the steering wheel to fall out of a locked position and allowed the entire column to rotate skewed to the left side. The steering wheel became dangerous to use as it was in a freed position that allowed the…
