2024 TOYOTA SEQUOIA HYBRID

The power liftgate and pinch sensor system on my 2024 Toyota Sequoia Platinum continues to malfunction intermittently and creates an ongoing safety concern. The liftgate frequently fails to close using the electronic controls and instead emits two warning beeps before becoming completely unresponsive, forcing the liftgate to be manually pushed shut. The pinch sensor system appears to falsely detect obstructions when none are present, causing unreliable and inconsistent operation of the rear…

UNKNOWN. I have NOT had an incident. I own a 2024 Toyota Sequoia SUV that uses the same engine as the hundreds of thousands of Tundra trucks that Toyota has already recalled. They've recalled over 250,000 Tundras because they say machining debris may cause a problem that eventually destroys the engine's main bearing, resulting in loss of power. [XXX] My problem is, they are NOT recalling the hybrid models that use this exact same engine, to include both Tundras and Sequoias. It seems they…

The contact owns a 2004 Toyota Sequoia. There was an abnormal rattling sound detected in the front area. The vehicle was shaking. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the frame was completely rusty and unsafe to drive. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to have the frame checked, and it was determined there was minor rust detected. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact vehicle was taken to another local dealer,…

The plastic panel underneath the driver’s seat has cracked and broken a SECOND time, despite being repaired at Toyota dealership. Toyota customer care was contacted and while they admitted this is a known issue and they are aware it is happening repeatedly, even after a few months after being replaced there is no fix in sight and they will not cover the repair. Size should not matter but I am a smaller person and not applying excess force when seated. I am worried about SAFETY as a secure seat…

2025 TOYOTA SEQUOIA HYBRID

Filed May 9, 2026

Right rear passenger window failed. Came out to my vehicle at 4pm 5/4/2026 at work in a secure lot. Right rear passenger window appeared exploded out. Almost all of the glass was on the ground, only some of the tempered glass fell in onto the seat. Took many pictures showing the glass bowed out. Filed a police report. Police found no foul play, also noting the nature of the damage protruding out. Police are reviewing parking lot camera footage and no foul play has been indicated to date. Took…

2025 TOYOTA SEQUOIA HYBRID

The panoramic moonroof on the 2025 Toyota Sequoia spontaneously shattered while the vehicle was stationary. Nothing hit the moonroof. Was told by the dealership that it was caused by a pressure imbalance and although this is a know issue Toyota will not cover it as corporate doesn't see it as a issue. Was lucky the screen as deployed as it caught the glass from hitting the driver.

2023 TOYOTA SEQUOIA HYBRID

Filed Apr 25, 2026

I am creating this complaint because my vehicle has not been included in the NHTSA recall # 25V-767 on the V35A 3.4L twin-turbo V6 in my 2023 Sequioa. My vehicle was produced on the same manufacturing line and likely had the same engine debris. Toyota gives the reason for not including the hybrid because it is not a safety issue as the hybrid motor can provide power if the engine fails. However owners who have encountered this issue in a hybrid tundra or Sequioa has said that power-steering and…

2019 TOYOTA SEQUOIA

2 injured

Third row seatbelts broke. They came undone from where they are bolted to the bottom of the car. My children were in their car seats anchored by the seatbelts when these broke when the vehicle was moving and they flew sideways. Looks like poor products were used to secure the seatbelt, there are signs of product disintegration and rust coloring on belt where they occurred.

2024 TOYOTA SEQUOIA HYBRID

The second row right seat belt receptacle wiring harness failed on my 2024 Toyota Sequoia. The two wires connecting the seat belt buckle sensor were severed cleanly. The wiring harness is routed through the seat fold/pivot mechanism with insufficient slack or protection. Normal use of the fold-flat seat function caused the harness to be pinched and abraded at the pivot point over time, eventually shearing the wires completely. The seat belt alarm activated continuously even when buckled, as the…

2023 TOYOTA SEQUOIA HYBRID

The factory (OEM) roof rails on my 2023 Toyota Sequoia have become loose at the front and are popping up, no longer sitting flush or appearing securely attached to the roof. This issue occurs during normal driving and is visible without removing any trim or components. The front portion of the OEM roof rails appears to lift or separate, creating concern that the rails or associated hardware could detach while the vehicle is in motion. This presents a potential safety hazard due to the risk of…
