I am reporting a recurring engine defect involving the Multi-Displacement System (MDS) in my 2022 RAM 1500 Big Horn equipped with the 5.7L HEMI eTorque engine. My new Ram has very soft brakes. Should you keep constant pressure on the brake pedal it will eventually go to the floor. Also, no trailer brakes. Dealer states they can find no problem, and they are working as intended. They are not. Lockhart Texas dealer bled the brakes, with no improvement.

The sun visor (driver and passenger) break with normal use. This can cause the visor to suddenly drop into the drivers field of view or potentially strike the driver in the head depending on if it is being used in the standard down position or if the extension bar is being used on the front or side position. I hit a deer coming around a corner at probably 45 mph, dead center in the middle of my bumper. My airbags did not deploy, and my front sensors did not alert me before collision.

The truck has stalled twice while in motion. Leaving me stopped suddenly in middle of the street. This has happened on 2 separate occasions. I did not think to save the dates. Initially I thought maybe I wasnt giving it enough throttle, but after reading more into it I see there was a recall for the previous year model and this may be considered problematic as well. Blown Engine- No prior indicators that were obviously present. Driving on highway and about 40 miles in, loud ticking noises. Truck previously had manifold bolt breaking issues so assumed it was an exhaust leak. Within another 20 miles, the engine light came on and engine noises noticeably increased. Immediately took it to Ram Service and was diagnosed with a failed camshaft and camshaft bearing wear/scoring. Issue was reported to Ram dealership and ultimately fixed at owner cost.

I have been trying to schedule an appointment to fix the trailer lighting recall for over six months. The dealership tells me the parts are on back order even though I know people are getting this fixed at other dealerships.

The vehicle shut off in the middle of the road while driving without warning. To get it restarted, we needed to activate with remote start on key fob several times before it would allow us to restart. The vehicle also did the same behavior 3 more times in a parking lot where it would immediately halt and shut off while the vehicle was in motion. We have today reported to the dealer and will be transporting the car there today.
