Ram 3500

Several years of ABS check light illuminated. No ABS, no cruise control. Started intermittently then became permanent. Diesel shop diagnosed defective HCU/ABS module. Local RAM dealer parts department doesn’t have parts for years - “ indefinite back order”, they say.

ABS and Traction control lights keep coming on intermittently. I know this is a known problem and a recall has already been issued. I feel like this is too important of an issue for Ram to be allowed 18 months and still no remedy. The HCU ABS is malfunctioning causing the cruise control to not work along with anti lock brake functions. This could cause a brake malfunction leading to a crash. We have received the recall notice, C4B/NHTSA 24V-896 over a year ago. We have contacted the local dealer several times during that year, including May 21, 2026. The contact stated that when he took his vehicle to be aligned, he was advised that the vehicle was not able to be aligned, due to a previous recall repair where the drag link was welded unless the drag link was replaced.
