Volvo V90 Cross Country

I was hit in head by rear hatch that closed unexpectedly. I am 81 years old and do not need this. I reported to Volvo. I am not the only one having this problem. Dangerous. These cars are supposed to be safe.

Volvo had an over the air update for all cars with the Google UI. Recently my speakers and other electrical components have been having issues. I took the car to the dealership for evaluation since it's under warranty. The dealer said the issue is a known software issue that started a couple months ago. The only software change my vehicle has had has been the OTA update. Now Volvo is charging to fix the issue even though they introduced it in their own update.

In our 2021 Volvo XC90, the hybrid battery has completely failed, which I suspect is a common issue in this model. The error message is Hybrid System Failure, and the dealership has confirmed that the entire battery will need replacement. Volvo has not listed this car as subject to a recall over this issue, and I suspect they are underplaying its frequency. We have been waiting weeks for a replacement to become available.

The infotainment will randomly overheat and a system warning will come on that begins cooling the cluster by turning on the air vents. I have taken the vehicle to Volvo several times to address the issue and they do a software update but the problem returns within a few weeks. The safety sensors will also randomly turn off while driving. I have contacted Volvo several times to no avail. Infotainment/Car Software upgraded to 3.7 and have not LOST the PIP 360 camera in reverse. 360 camera appears black and only left with rear camera.

Rear taillight failure due to moisture incursion. No message appeared, but light failure was observed less than a month ago. Car is in for regular service now and item is being replaced at great personal expense, since it will not pass required safety inspection until repaired. Reporting this here because it is a known problem for hundreds of owners of this vehicle, and should be subject to a safety recall, but Volvo has repeated refused to address this flaw. Gaps in the sunroof seal caused water to drain from the sunroof to the interior, electrical panel, firewall panel of the car and batteries. All electrical components are damaged because of the water. My car died on a very busy road on Dec. 31, 2024. It is an extremely dangerous rd. I could not leave the vehicle because my special needs son was with me and scared to get out. Volvo updated their infotainment computer system and it is not functioning properly. A hard reset is required to make it work; included in the issues is heat and air; seat activation and entertainment functions. They do not have a date in which issues will be resolved. My vehicle has been to the dealer 2x for repairs and yesterday I was informed they don't know when it will be fixed. SAFETY issues is trying to adjust and or correct system while driving; air conditioning etc.

I ordered this vehicle brand new in October 2022. I took delivery May 1, 2023. The problem presented itself instantly the first moment I drove the car at night. On low beams, the headlights project a very large V that is cut out of the upper left hand corner of the projected headlight beam.
