GLS 450 of this model year were recalled for failing Steering Coupling Locking Screws. While my car was not recalled it is exhibiting similar symptoms involving creaking sounds at low speeds when the engine has warmed up. The recall should be expanded.

The contact owns a 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLS450 4Matic. The contact stated that vehicle was taken to the dealer for routine service, and it was discovered that the U-joint on front driveshaft was fractured and needed to be replaced. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V216000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.

On 8/20/2026 I had a vacuum leak from the intake manifold and crankcase hoses repaired at a Vic's Bimmer Shop in the city of Lancaster California.
