Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ SUV

Since January 2025, the front passenger occupant-classification system on my 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 intermittently fails to detect a properly seated adult occupant and instead displays Passenger Airbag Disabled on the instrument cluster. Car had a burning smell when entered and so stopped the car and had it towed to the dealership on 9/20/26 (Mercedes Benz of Laguna Niguel). Dealer said that a liquid beverage were spilled onto the rear passenger seat are, resulting in liquid intrusion and a short circuit at the rear SAM control unit. The roof of the vehicle is rusting just behind the rear sunroof. The vehicle has never been in an accident or damaged. The manufacturer has not pained a significant portion of the roof.

On Multiple occasions, the vehicle has spun out of control as though it's reacting to something that is not present. On May 10, 2026, headed north on the highway the car again lost control first veering right and then left into the highway median where it collided, spun out and hit again. I had injuries and a mild concussion.
