The taillights in my 2012 c300 was starting to go out intermittently. At first the notification came on for the brake light but the brake light kept working. Afterwards the rest of the taillights and the sidemarker light went out as well. I went to go take a look and the grounding wire was oxidated and corroded. Engine light came on, checked with diagnostic machine shows a crank shaft issue. I have maintained the car with regular checks and maintenance. This has to be a defective part.

Check engine light came on, a day after purchasing from dealer. Mileage at 55k. Check engine light code was p052e71, confirmed from 2 auto repairers. One was Mercedes Benz who quoted me $3900 to repair. In the Mercedes Benz booklet warranty says emission related repairs are covered for 15 years/150k miles for hybrid vehicles.

I was driving on the local freeway and the strip of glass between the windshield and the sunroof flew off and landed on the pavement behind me. Thankfully the car behind me was far enough away that it didn't hit it--but it could have if it had been. If that had happened I shudder to think what the result would have been. Car had 69,300 miles (5 3/4 years old) at time of service on 4/18/2023. The check engine light came on the day before. Dealer performed diagnostic- stated it was the Crank Case Ventilation that needed to be replaced. I was charged $2107.00 $1710.00 for labor, $397.00 for parts. I have a 2017 C350E with 69K miles. Dealer wants $2900 to fix the Crankcase Ventilation Valve. The part that needs to be replaced costs about $600 with lot of labor time involved (~$2500). The part number is 274090560084. The C350E has a 15 year emissions control warranty in California that is supposed to cover all emissions control related parts, but Mercedes Benz USA doesn't seem to think this is part of the emission control system. Engine light ON with DTC code P052E

This is a plug-in hybrid car and twice in the last two weeks, the car while in motion on the road, has randomly turned off the engine and lost power. The gas pedal is unresponsive and all the alarms on screen flash and I have to coast to a stop. Most recently it was on a busy road and I barely missed being rear-ended. This is an unsafe situation and has happened twice and the only thing which I can do is come to complete stop, turn off the car and restart it and the problem goes away.

This is a known problem with The Mercedes cars from 2015 through 2018. The Service advisor said this is a know issue with this year, I asked can you do it for free because it is a Merc issue. He said he cannot do it. The cost for this repair is $2500 in Mercedes show room. These should be recalled and repair it for free for the customers.
