2025 Mazda CX-30 experienced a sudden complete loss of power while driving at highway speed with no prior warning lights or indications of malfunction. Immediately before shutdown, steering became extremely stiff due to loss of power steering assist. Vehicle was steered towards the shoulder during highway speed of 65mph and was electrically inoperable while rolling, this includes the loss of hazards, power steering and electronic brake lock engagement.

Following a recent inspection at Perry Mazda in Santa Barbara, my vehicle was diagnosed with a failed clock spring mechanism causing airbag malfunction warnings. Clock spring failure under 70K miles on a 2021 vehicle is premature and suggests a defect rather than normal wear. I contacted Mazda North America and it has been over a week without a response. I have maintained the vehicle responsible and have no history of collisions or modifications that could have contributed to this failure.

[XXX] fuel door assembly has come loose from body. It looks like the clips that hold it in place have become worn or loose by the weight of the gas nozzle or by the fact that the gas door will not close correctly and car wash machine has made it looser and it appears to not shut all the way, and the body colored panel has fallen off as a result and when you pump gas, the assembly moves may be possibly causing it to leak gasoline if the seal or gasket becomes dislodged because of the loose…

The contact owns a 2023 Mazda. The contact stated that the vehicle was braking randomly while driving. There was an unknown malfunction code that flashed quickly. The steering was stiff and failed to turn. The steering wheel adjusted and guided the vehicle into the wrong lane. The RPM was sporadically reeving. The RPM increased, and the vehicle stalled without acceleration. There was smoke emerging from the hood. There was oil leaking. The vehicle failed to turn off and on. The fuel gauge and…

Unexpected Automatic Emergency Braking Activation at Highway Speeds in Cold Temperatures. Description: I am reporting a safety issue with a 2023 Mazda CX-30 involving the collision avoidance / automatic emergency braking system. While driving at highway speeds, the system activates a forward collision warning (audible alert and dashboard indicator), followed almost immediately by automatic braking, even when there are no vehicles, obstacles, or pedestrians ahead. Conditions…

While driving, on approach to a stop signal, at an intersection the car stopped moving. The display said engine malfunction, have inspected. The electronics and engine continued to operate, but the car would not move when gas pedal was depressed. I shut off and restarted my vehicle numerous times, with no effect on the problem, the car still would not move. The vehicle behind me had to brake unexpectedly, and I could have been hit by others in the intersection, there could have been an…

The vehicle intermittently fails to start when pressing the push-button start system. The start/stop button becomes unresponsive despite normal conditions (key present, brake engaged, no warning indicators preventing ignition). This has now occurred twice within two years of ownership, indicating a recurring issue rather than an isolated incident. On the most recent occurrence, the vehicle was completely unable to start and required towing. The tow truck operator reported that he had towed…

On multiple occasions while driving in rain/snow/ice, the vehicle will initially throw an i-ACTIVESENSE Partially Disabled Due to Camera Malfunction error. This initially disables adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, blind spot detection, etc. This error immediately then cascades to throw a Dynamic Stability Control Malfunction error as well as an ABS Malfunction error, suggesting that both dynamic stability control and ABS are disabled. This issue has occurred roughly 50% of the time it…

I was driving down the Highway and the sun roof just exploded send shards of glass everywhere and nothing had hit it or anything. It just exploded. When I got to the dealer the person ahead of me had the exact same thing and we compared pictures. It was scary, dangerous and really loud when it happened.
