The vehicle was brought to a stop without a collision, and no injuries occurred. The Telematics Control Unit (TCU) short-circuited internally while the vehicle was parked, draining the battery and leaving the vehicle completely immobilized. It would not start and had to be towed to an authorized Land Rover dealer. RECALL REMEDY FAILURE-DEALER DENIED SAFETY REPAIR On 7/31 vehicle would shut off after cranking up. Eventually got a check engine light. I was out of town at the time and it was 630pm. I was able to take vehicle to a Advanced Auto so they could do a quick diagnostic check. Codes P0505--Idle Air Control System DTC Severity 2 of 3 and P0507--Idle Control System RPM Higher than expected also showed. The backup camera on my 2021 Velar has stopped functioning. Service confirmed not a wiring issue and claims it is the NFSM Module not functioning correctly. There are several recalls on the module that include the model and year of my Velar. Although my VIN number is not included in the recall, it is highly suspect that it is a known faulty module for the year and model amongst other models from 2020-2024. It is a safely hazard and one that should not fall under the consumers responsibility.…
