Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2013 Infiniti M37. The vehicle was a local independent dealer sale. The contact stated that after purchasing the vehicle, the contact was informed by the mechanic that there was a mileage discrepancy. At the time of purchase, the mileage was 80,000. The VIN search by the mechanic indicated that the mileage was 180,000.

The front passenger airbag warning light came on with a dash warning flashing light. I isolated the fault to the passenger seat weight sensor, which prevents the airbag from deploying when a passenger of less than 90 pounds is sensed in the front seat. The time from the onset of the warning light to discovery of the actual fault was less than a week and this was facilitated by a mechanic with a sophisticated enough OBD reader to flesh out Infiniti codes. I called my local Infiniti dealer in…

The contact owns a 2012 Infiniti M37. The contact stated that the front passenger's side air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact was quoted a diagnostic fee and declined to pay the fee. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

In December, 2022, the airbag warning light activated. AT a cost to us of over $1500, the Infiniti dealer replaced the failed sensor. What we did not know is that this did not fix the problem and the air bag on the passenger side would never have deployed in the event of an accident. In November, 2023, the airbag warning light again activated. It turns out that the seat assembly had actually failed of which we were unaware. This is a very expensive repair to a part that should never have…

The contact owns a 2012 Infiniti M37. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to an independent mechanic for an oil change, she was informed that the radiator pressure O-ring was leaking coolant. The independent mechanic diagnosed that the radiator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 96,294.

The airbag control module failed on this car which has under 25000 miles on it. The airbag would not have deployed if the car was in an accident and insurance claims would have been void so we had no choice but to immediately replace the module at a cost of over $2,000. The dealer inspected and confirmed that this was the case (and also that they have seen it happen on other Infinity's). The warning light was the first indication of the problem and we immediately took it to the dealer who…

Passenger Air Bag Sensor Failed. Concerned Passenger Airbag will not deploy when passengers are in the car. This is a Very Known and Problematic issue with Infiniti and Infiniti will not address this critical safety issue. Infiniti says repairs would be the owner responsibility and cost in excess of $8,000. This is a critical safety issue and needs to be addressed by Infiniti before someone gets hurt.

The Air Bag Warning Light on the dash blinks continuously and the Front Passenger Air Bag Status Light remains on whether or not the seat is occupied. I took the car to the Infiniti dealer. The Service Advisor said the Occupant Classification System Control Unit or OCS sensor needs to be replaced but Infiniti no longer provides this part; and furthermore, Infiniti advises against owner replacing the unit with a used part. I asked the Service Adviser what solution does Infiniti suggest and he…

airbag light blinks. We tried the reset and it worked until someone sat in the seat. Called dealer and they said the seat bottom needs replacing as it’s a occupancy sensor. Cost for part + labor = 5K .. Totally outrageous. safety issue
