2025 HYUNDAI IONIQ 5

Filed May 27, 2026

The Moon Roof glass, which is not designed to open, developed a non-impact, or stress fracture. Since it is not supposed to open, the glass is a structural part of the vehicle. It was not cracked when I first took possession of the vehicle, and since I did not open the interior screen all winter, I never noticed the crack. I reported it to the dealer, but it did not take responsibility or offer a replacement.

TIRE SIZE 235 / 55 R 19. Vehicle is a 2024 IONIQ 5. Issue began at/around 10k miles of use. Sound dampening foam inside of the tires comes loose and bunches up in the tire, creating varying degrees of car shaking and vibration. At its worst, the steering wheel and tires violently shake, especially between 50 - 75 mph. On the highway this causes a very dangerous situation of the driver fighting the wheel to remain safely within their lane. This can happen with no warning (or very little) as…

2025 HYUNDAI IONIQ 5

I was driving on a busy highway at a high but legal speed. For a few seconds the vehicle appeared to reset. I lost control and the screen went blank. It was a miracle I did not hit another vehicle. I contacted the dealer and they stated unless it was happening frequently - there is nothing they could do. I spent hours on the phone with the dealer attempting to schedule an appointment, they stated their EV person was not available. I contacted Hyundai customer service. They ignored me for…

2023 HYUNDAI IONIQ 5

Car indicated 12v battery was critically low and that I should stop safely. I was just starting it in a parking lot. This is a classic ICCU failure and the car is up to date on all recall updates. The car requires manual key unlocking for outside access at this point, and the rear hatch is only unlockable using the manual release mechanism which is recessed into the rear hatch and needs the key. The back two doors cannot be opened at all, from either direction and the handles don't work…

The Driver Attention Warning system fails every time I put the car in Cruise Control. I have adjusted my seat and the steering column but no relief. I have removed my hat and sunglasses with no relief. I have my hands at 8 and 4. The DAW IR tracking causes a visual warning in the dashboard and then a horrific cacophony if I try to ignore the warning. Two weeks ago an OTA was downloaded which purported to improve the sensitivity of head movement. It is not improved, if anything it is quicker to…

2023 HYUNDAI IONIQ 5

The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) failed on my 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5. The vehicle stopped charging prematurely overnight via AC Level 2 charging and then refused to charge again at all. The ICCU is responsible for maintaining the 12V battery by topping it up during normal operation. No warning or check engine light came on, I was only made aware when I attempted L2 charging and the car would refuse to take the charge. I understand that with a failed ICCU, if I'm unaware of the failure…

2025 HYUNDAI IONIQ 5

Filed May 19, 2026

Our *2025* Hyundai Ioniq 5 experienced a complete failure of the ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit). The car displayed numerous warnings including Check brake system, Check 12V battery. Stop safely and engage parking brake, and Check parking distance warning system. The car stopped working completely and would not turn on again. A towing company had to be called as the car was completely inoperable.

2024 HYUNDAI IONIQ 5

The vehicle flashed a warning and suddenly lost power, forcing me to pull over or be stuck in the middle of the road. The vehicle could no longer be driven, as this problem occurred quickly after subsequent restarts. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership, who confirmed it was a broken ICCU, and stated that this had been happening a lot to the Ioniq5s. The replacement part was on backorder. It ended up taking nearly 60 days for the replacement to arrive and to be installed.
