There is a yellow air bag (SRS) safety restraint critical wire harness underneath the seats and it's loose and hanging down touching the floor with lots of slack, very easy for a water bottle or any object to roll under there and pull it loose, which would disable a critical passenger safety system. This issue is reported by many drivers including myself, photos attached are from multiple people's experiences with this issue.

EV system not working on car with 8k miles on it. Dealer backed up and cannot offer rental car. This is a safety issue for me . This is a KNOWN issue for Hyundai and they are not recalling and their dealers are not equipped to resolve quickly.

Systemic failure of the electrical architecture and Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) resulting in a sudden, catastrophic loss of motive power. Over 14 months of ownership, this vehicle has suffered four distinct, electrical and charging failures. On June 6, 2026, the vehicle experienced a total ICCU failure. All lights in the car went dark and lost all power without warning, creating an immediate and life-threatening hazard to myself . The vehicle had to be towed. Three prior repair…

2023 HYUNDAI IONIQ 5

The vehicle repeatedly displays a Stop Vehicle and Check Brake System warning together with an ABS warning, accompanied by a loss of normal braking response. On XXX, while driving at approximately 60 mph on I-85 northbound near Exit XXX in [XXX], the warnings appeared and the brakes did not respond normally. I was maintaining a substantial following distance, and the braking system restored itself before I reached the point of needing to brake hard, so no crash or injury occurred. Had hard…

2025 HYUNDAI IONIQ 5

Filed Jul 15, 2026

The car entered a failed ICCU state (not confirmed until the car was looked at by Hyundai at the dealership) while I was driving down to Ano Nuevo regional park. Received a warning on the dash that said that electrical system has failed and to pull over. It restricted me from going over 10 mph on Highway 1 and I eventually pulled over the side of the road and got towed to the dealership. The car is home with me now but I do not feel safe driving this vehicle after all of the reports of ICCU…

2024 HYUNDAI IONIQ 5

Filed Jul 14, 2026

Vehicle steering or at least power steering failed catastrophically. Started with some electronic sounds at extremes of turning radius but subsequently failed completely and rendered car undriveable. Hyundai repair center attributed this to excessive dirt and dust or some external force, but was unable to substantiate or demonstrate any damage to parts they say need replacing. Ultimately this remains undiagnosed with regards to cause but dealer clearly identifies need to replace P/S motor…

Crash

I was slowing down, actively pressing the brake pedal to bring the vehicle to a full stop. As the car decelerated to what my senses and perception registered as a full stop, I pressed the “P” (Park) button while keeping my foot on the brake pedal. I felt the physical click of the “P” button under my thumb while still holding the brake, and my mind registered that the vehicle had successfully transitioned into Park. Before turning around, I visually confirmed that the vehicle had come to a…

2025 HYUNDAI IONIQ 5

Filed Jul 10, 2026

Failure of ICCU and high voltage fuse. Known issue in this vehicle. 2022-24 have been recalled. 2025 needs to be recalled. Warning on dash when it occurred, then 12V battery died. Undrivable. Towed in and repaired under warranty by dealer. But apparently it can happen again because Hyundai doesn’t know how to permanently address the problem.

The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5. The contact stated that while driving at higher speeds occasionally, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power. The Smart Smooth Cruise Control Conditions Not Met warning message was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact restarted the vehicle as a temporary fix; however, the failure recurred.
