Honda Ridgeline

The contact owns a 2006 Honda Ridgeline. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V430000 (Structure); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. Upon further inspection, the contact and an independent mechanic noticed severe rear frame corrosion. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer twice; however, the vehicle could not be raised up on the lift. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 226,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the parts for the recall repair was on back order after the mechanic disassembled parts of the vehicle. The dealer declined to provide a loaner vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted, but no additional assistance was provided.

I own a 2023 Ridgeline with an abnormal clunking noise from front right side and occasional steering wheel vibration at highway speeds. I've been having trouble with the auto start stop on my vehicle pretty much since i bought it. If I don't forget to disable it, when i come to a stop light my truck won't restart and shut off. On XXX at approximately 8:10 am I was traveling West bound on Highway [XXX] from [XXX] to [XXX]. when without warning, I heard a loud explosion above me and in looking at my rearview mirror I saw what looked like shards of glass flying out past the bed of my truck. When sitting at a traffic light, the auto start/stop feature engaged and shut down the engine, when my foot was removed from the brake, the truck did not restart. I had to put the truck in park and manually press the start button. This caused a safety issue by making the vehicle inoperable in the middle of an intersection. Auto shut off and restart will shut the engine off at a red light or intersection but then it tries to restart but the stalls the engine. I have to shift it quickly into park and restart the engine with several cars behind me. This is a safety hazard. This has happened multiple times. Honda says that this isn’t covered under the 10 year extended warranty unlimited miles for this problem with the 2023. Ridgeline.

I purchased my new 2024 Honda Ridgeline new at the end of 2024. The vehicle currently has approximately 29,000 miles and still has all four original factory Firestone Destination LE2 tires, size 245/60R18. All four tires are showing significant dry rot and cracking in the tread, specifically between the outside row of tread and the next row in.
