2020 HONDA FIT
Filed May 25, 2026
Upon startup, dashboard display of time, mileage, and outdoor temp is scrambled. After a few minutes, display corrects on its own. This first happened during a severe cold spell (-20F overnight temps) but has continued into the summer at least a couple of times per week. Pressing the button to cycle through the other screen options doesn’t solve the problem. All are scrambled until the display corrects itself.

Multiple warning lights lit up after starting car and driving for a short distance (less than 5 feet). Honda mechanic diagnosed it as a misfire in cylinder likely due to carbon buildup or other unknown reason. Similar incidents have happened with other 2019 Honda Fit and an extension of warranty was issued for some vehicles but not all (SB 23-042). Unfortunately, mine was apparently not covered despite the same exact issue as other reported incidents.

The start/stop switch on my 2015 Honda Fit failed — a known defect acknowledged by Honda through Service Bulletin A20-098. A faulty start/stop switch creates serious safety hazards including the inability to start the vehicle in an emergency, becoming stranded in dangerous locations such as intersections or highways, and potential inability to shut the engine off. My vehicle is UNDER the mileage threshold specified in the bulletin, yet Honda refused to cover any portion of my $750 repair. This…

The instrument cluster display malfunctioned. The odometer and MPG (fuel economy) display are affected. The component is available for inspection upon request. If the fuel gauge becomes affected by this malfunction, the driver would be unable to monitor fuel levels, risking unexpected engine stalling on highways without warning. The problem has not yet been confirmed by a dealer or service center. The issue is intermittent and currently in early stages. The vehicle was taken to a Honda…

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Fit. The contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for a diagnostic test. The dealer retrieved DTC: P0304 (ECM Detected Repeated Misfire in Cylinder #4). The dealer linked the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 21-007; however, the vehicle was not covered under warranty or the bulletin. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and confirmed the information from the dealer, and…

My Honda Fit with an automatic transmission experienced a driveshaft failure due to corrosion in August 2018. At that time, Honda had announced a recall for similar driveshaft corrosion failures affecting manual‑transmission Honda Fits, but no recall existed for automatic‑transmission vehicles. Because there was no recall for my vehicle configuration, and no notice from Honda, I had the vehicle repaired at an independent repair shop at my own expense. Honda later expanded the recall to…
