My 2023 GMC Yukon has had a strong mildew/musty odor coming from the HVAC system since the vehicle was new. The odor is most noticeable every time the vehicle is started after it has been sitting for several hours or overnight. After the system runs for a short time, the odor dissipates. This concern has been reported to my GMC dealer on multiple occasions. Previous repair attempts have not permanently corrected the problem, and the odor continues to worsen. The smell is now strong enough that…

The contact owns a 2021 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds from 2 - 30 MPH, the vehicle hesitated and bucked while accelerating and switching between 4- and 8-cylinders operation. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who installed a part used to override the engine cylinder mode, and the engine only operated using 8 cylinders. No further information was available. The manufacturer and local dealer were not contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was…

2024 GMC YUKON

I am reporting a serious safety defect and unreasonable delay in addressing it under safety recall N252494000 (L87 Engine – Loss of Propulsion). My GMC Yukon has an illuminated check engine light and is now also overheating. According to GM’s own customer service r, this can lead to knocking, unusual engine noises, hesitation, high RPMs, abnormal shifting, reduced propulsion, and sudden loss of propulsion while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. I have contacted multiple dealerships for…

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that there was an abnormal moaning and grinding sound coming from the vehicle. The contact became aware of the uneven wear on the tires. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the differential needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle previously had an alignment and fluid flush performed. The contact stated that the failure was…

2023 GMC YUKON

am filing a formal complaint regarding my 2023 GMC Yukon Denali, which experienced a catastrophic engine failure while I was driving on the highway with my family. The sudden failure created a dangerous situation, placing both my family and me at significant risk. As a result of the breakdown, I was forced to pay $260 out of pocket to have the vehicle towed to the dealership. After inspecting the vehicle, the dealership advised me that the engine requires complete replacement. There was no…

Vehicle is a 2022 GMC Yukon Denali with the 6.2L L87 V8, covered by NHTSA Recall 25V-274 (GM N252494001). The recall remedy was performed. The engine passed the dealer inspection and was given the higher-viscosity 0W-40 oil remedy rather than an engine replacement. On 05/26/2026, at approximately 43,000 miles, the vehicle suffered a sudden engine knock while being driven by my wife. At the same time, the dash displayed Service ESC and Service Traction Control warnings, the vehicle's speed…

2021 GMC YUKON

Filed Jul 14, 2026

Seems to be not accelerating properly as if the propulsion is not there. Also, when switching gears it seems as if it is slipping or missing to keep up with the propulsion. Lastly, riding with windows down on the highway alongside the concrete median, I can hear like metal clanking or rubbing against one another. Also, I get an oil change at George Ballas GMC on [XXX] and 3 weeks later truck says change oil soon. AND YES THEY RESET THE OIL LIGHT AND I DROVE IT FOR 3 WEEKS AND THE LIGHT POPPED…

2021 GMC YUKON

The contact owns a 2021 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made an abnormal sound and failed to accelerate above 25 MPH. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that there was metal in the engine and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where it remained for eight months before the engine was replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the…
