GMC Canyon

2024 GM Canyon bought brand new in December 2024, now has 24,700 miles and the front brake pads are down to 2% per the GMC dealership service department. Premature brake wear, and GM is refusing to pay for it.

Driving down road and heard load screeching noise then when preparing to stop the brake felt like pushing on a brick wall and almost got hit after pulling into highway. The vacuum booster pump was found to have been sheared off engine.

Issue #1: While driving on the highway, the screens flickered once in a while. While stopping at a gas station, the vehicle did not turn on. Everything was black as if there was no power. Could not turn the ignition key off beyond the Accessory position in order to turn the key completely off to remove the ignition key. The key would stick in the ON oor Accessory position. The problem was in the microswitch button on the console shifter, the front button is pushed in to enable shifting into the PARK position. The power steering on the truck we purchased for our son for college went out while he driving, I had him take it to a local shop and they said this is a known issue from GM and a safety alert was issue under NHTSA 21V213000/GM Recall N202325410. Vehicle had brake system failure while driving nearly resulting in two accidents due to an inability to deccelerate. Brake System Failure notification came on screen along with other safety warnings and a check engine light has stayed on since.

I purchased my truck with 5 miles on the speedometer in Anchorage AK 4/7/2024.
