The spot welds holding the driver side front door check strap (the thing that keeps the door from opening too far) have failed on a 3 year old Mustang Mach E GT (2023 model year) with 45,000 miles on it and no corrosion on the door. You are more than welcome to look at the failure or I can send you pictures. On [XXX] while traveling south on [XXX] at highway speed (in heavy traffic), multiple dashboard messages started to flash, and the car came to a stop in the middle lane. 2021 model mustang Mache got a new High Voltage Battery Warning on the dashboard and asked to stop the vehicle. My car is Premium trim standard range, but other trims and extended range battery models were recalled for this exact issue earlier, but the premium trim standard range car was not included in recalls. OTA software updates are unable to be recieved and I cannot set the auto update option to on. Since the vehicle is basically a computer on wheels, this is a serious safety concern. All functions rely on the computer which in turn relies on the software updates.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E. The contact stated that while attempting to reverse, while shifting the gear shifter to drive, the vehicle independently accelerated. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions. No warning lights were illuminated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000.

Bought car in March 2026. Twice while driving car in heavy traffic on highway using BlueCruise car slowed down on its own and warning message read vehicle is stopping (this happened first in early July and again in mid-August). Both times happened while in middle lane of traffic, creating safety concern for pulling over. Both times was able to restart car and reenter highway to return home. Dealer service center was not able to locate or recreate problem.
