I took my 2014 Ford Edge in for an annual inspection and discovered severe rust over the entire frame and a large hole rusted through the subframe. The rust had spread to the suspension and exhaust pipe. The car did not brake randomly back in may when I was picking my toddler up from school. I contacted Ford dealership and they said braking issues is a known issue with the edge but my vehicle has no recalls. I could pay almost $300 for a diagnostic fee but nothing would be covered because their was a recall for the brake booster but that was back in 2013-2014. The 2.0l Ecoboost engine is indicating an error code of P0302 after an engine service light. This code is for a Cylinder 2 misfire. The vehicle reserve coolant tank is showing low and in need of coolant after a recent oil/fluid service. This likely is the beginning of the known issue of coolant intrusion into this 2017 2.0L Ecoboost engine. This results in the need to replace the longblock of this vehicle.
