The rear racetrack led keeps getting water inside them and shorting out all of the lights on the tailgate. The rear license plate light burned out and I was pulled over. I ordered 2 new lights and installed them. Neither worked. I put the old lights back in and then both stopped working. Then the race track light failed. Additionally, the front headlight race track also failed. This is a know manufacturing defect in these cars and nothing is being done about it. Passenger side headrest exploded while driving. Luckily no one was in the passenger seat

While researching the failure online, the contact learned that the failure was due to water entering the improperly sealed taillight housings. The contact associated the failure to an extended warranty that excluded the model year. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

2017 Dodge Durango, rear racetrack lights went out due to widely publicized problem of water getting in and shorting the lights out, also took out my license plate lights. I had to get it replaced so I didnt get fined for the license plate lights being out. Dodge just announced a program for 2018-2024 years, this issued started in 2014-2015. All other years need included also. It cost me $2100 to get my required license plate lights back on.

Day time running light gone out

The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair.
