Cadillac XT4

Dealer, upon inspections, found that the cam carrier is starting to leak. Approximately a $3,000 repair. Per the internet, is sounds like this is a known GM issue with this model.

Rodents chewed wiring because it is soy based. I'm lucky because my car was not disabled while driving etc because the EVAP system was affected . This could have been much worse and could have caused death etc if it happened to another system of the car. ie: brakes, propulsion, headlights, air bags, etc etc etc...Cadillac dealer who fixed the issue said that it is a common problem and not warranted and my car has no warranty anyway.

While driving the complete dash will go black: no radio, gauges, speedometer, etc. The total blackout lasts for about 30-45 seconds and then different gauges, speedometer, etc will slowly come back to life. During this blackout period I have no idea of my speed nor what other functions, like ABS, might be off-line also.

A PROBLEM WITH SOMETHING INTERNAL CAUSING THE HAZARD LIGHTS TO COME ON WHEN THE CAR IS NOT TURNED ON. REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO TURN THE HAZARD LIGHTS OFF DON'T WORK. THEY STAY ON AND DO NOT STOP UNTIL THE BATTERY WAS TOTALLY DEAD. I DON'T KNOW WHICH SYSTEMS ARE AFFECTED OR TRIGGER THE HAZARD LIGHTS TO COME ON. AAA WAS SUMMONED FOR BATTERY SERVICE. BATTERY WAS REPLACED BUT THE ISSUE WAS NOT FIXED.

Purchased used with 30k miles and under factory bumper to bumper warranty. Noted noise when turning right slowly into parking space from front suspension as well as pop sound while going over speed bumps. Dealer replaced 3 axles (2 driver side) and confirmed noise present. Also replaced strut assembly in front which did not assist. Suspension issue unresolved to date and GM Field Tech suggests “operating to spec”. The automatic emergency braking system suddenly engages without any obstacles/pedestrians in the roadway causing the vehicle to completely stop. The vehicle is at the dealership at this time; it is unknown if the dealer can confirm the issue. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer. There was a warning light flashing directly before the incident(s).

I was driving down the road and my vehicle lost power and quit running. Luckily I was in the lane closest to the shoulder and was able to pull over on the shoulder and was not able to restart my vehicle, but had this happened in another location this could have been a huge safety problem for me and others with the vehicle completely losing power while driving in the middle of traffic on highway 27.
