The electronic parking brake of my vehicle with a manual transmission released automatically simply because the clutch pedal was depressed and released. I did not select a gear, press the brake pedal, or press the accelerator pedal. The parking brake should not be releasing simply by actuating the clutch. There is nothing to stop the vehicle from rolling. This behavior is repeatable and has happened in more than one place.

I was driving on a highway accelerating to merge to left lane when suddenly my charge pipe exploded and my vehicle lost almost all power. The sudden power loss put me in extreme danger as I tried to pull back over to the nearest exit with traffic zooming past me. After doing some research it became apparent that this is a long known issue. In fact bmw has redesigned the charge pipe with a new, more robust version but no recall has been issued to date and I'm stuck with over a thousand dollars…

2021 BMW M2

Stock OEM right rear spring on 2021 BMW M2 Competition F87 had snapped in two back in August 2023. Vehicle only has about $10,000 miles. Online forums also had online users with the same problem where OEM rear springs snapping on either side. Users also stated that vehicles were parked and springs suddenly snapped. The OEM coil springs should be looked into as this poses danger and safety for the driver especially if these incidents occurred on highway speeds.

I was driving down the highway, doing the speed limit, when my moonroof suddenly exploded. Luckily, the shade was drawn. But, if it had been open, I could have been seriously injured. There was no projectile, nothing fell and hit the window. On inspection of the roof after I safely made it home, the glass was bowing upward. Prior to the incident, the appearance of the glass was completely normal - ie. no scratches, dings, cracks. There was no indication that something might be wrong with the…

2017 BMW M2

Filed Sep 10, 2021

The charge pipe, connecting the cold side of the intercooler to the throttle body failed without warning. The failure point was the clamping point to secure the pipe to the throttle body. This vehicle has no powertrain modifications. The failure happened all of a sudden and as a result, my vehicle lost all power. Luckily, there wasn't anyone behind my car when this happened, but this could have easily been a big safety issue had I been merging onto a freeway/taking a left turn. I have not…

THE CONTRAST OF THE GAUGES ARE SO POOR THAT IN CERTAIN LIGHTING (DUSK, DAWN, MOMENTS OF SHADOW BY TREES) THEY BECOME ILLEGIBLE. IT IS EXAGGERATED BY WEARING SUNGLASSES. THE CURRENT MODELS HAVE CORRECTED THIS, BUT OWNERS OF 2016-2017 MODELS (MYSELF INCLUDED) HAVE NO RECOURSE. STRAINING TO SEE THE TACHOMETER OR SPEEDOMETER IS NOT SAFE!

2017 BMW M2

2017 BMW M2

Filed Mar 25, 2019

POOR INSTRUMENT GAUGE VISIBILITY UNDER SHADE OR OVERCAST. UNABLE TO SEE GAUGE MARKINGS DURING THE DAY BECAUSE THERE IS NO BACK LIGHTING. BMW CHANGED THE INSTRUMENT GAUGES IN THE 2018 MODEL DUE TO THIS ISSUE BUT DID OFFER ANY CHANGES FOR THE 2017 GENERATION.
