BMW 340i xDrive

Plastic oil filter housing fails pre-maturely and causes low coolant and/or oil level for the engine. This causes performance issues due to lack of cooling and lubrication and can lead to irreversible damage to the engine.

The radiator failed due to rocks flying through the grill and smashing the radiator causing coolant to flow out of the radiator which could cause deadly issues if a car has no coolant while operating. Bmw knows this is an issue and refuses to warranty/recall the parts. They know its an issue because after 12/17 every 340i came with a rock guard to protect the radiator but every car before that was just left to be victim of a potentially deadly situation including mine (manufactured 10/17). While driving down the interstate I-65 South, my sunroof spontaneously exploded. It sounded like a bomb explosion inside my car and could have caused grave danger to myself. There was nothing dropped on my sunroof as the screen remained intact and closed with no damage. My BMW had a pinhole in the radiator caused by driving on the highway and being impacted by a small foreign object. Apparently a foreign object (rock?) impacted the radiator creating a tiny leak. BMW repaired the vehicle (new radiator) and installed a Rock Guard without discussing this new Guard with me. Rock Guard Part # 17-11-8-185-042. 2017 BMW 340I. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO MILEAGE DISCREPANCY. THE CONSUMER STATED THE COMPANY OFFLEASEONLY WAS RUNNING A SCAM, WHERE THEY ADVERTISE LOW MILEAGE CARS WHEN IN ACTUALLY THE MILEAGE IS CONSIDERABLY HIGHER.

RETURNING FROM A LOCAL GROCERY STORE I DROVE INTO OUR GARAGE AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. I WAS DRIVING WHEN I HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION SOUND. I THOUGHT SOMETHING HAD HIT THE CAR. UPON INSPECTION, I NOTICED THE SUNROOF HAD EXPLODED INTO THOUSANDS OF PIECES. THIS OCCURRED ON JUNE 17, 2019.

DRIVING ABOUT 40MPH ON A STRAIGHT ROAD, NO POTHOLES,ON SUNNY DAY, TEMP ABOUT 50. SUDDEN EXPLOSION AND SUNROOF EXPLODED OUTWARD. PULLED OFF ROAD, NOTHING HAD STRUCK THE CAR. THE SUNROOF GLASS WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES

DAMAGE TO 1 TIRE FROM A CITY STREET POTHOLE RESULTED IN ALL 4 TIRES REQUIRING REPLACEMENT, AT SIGNIFICANT COST; DESPITE PURCHASING A WHEEL & TIRE PROTECTION PACKAGE. AT THE TIME OF REPLACEMENT OF ALL 4 TIRES, THE MILEAGE ON MY VEHICLE WAS 9949 MILES. EITHER MY VEHICLE IS DEFECTIVE AND/OR MY VEHICLE'S TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE. MY VEHICLE'S TIRES WERE MANUFACTURED BY CONTINENTAL; HOWEVER MY VEHICLE'S MANUFACTURER BMW NA, RECOMMENDED AND REQUIRED THESE TIRES.
