CALL VOLUME IS SET FOR 11 AND CAN'T BE HEARD OVER COMMON ROAD NOISE. THIS CAUSES DISTRACTED DRIVING AS THE DRIVER ATTEMPTS TO TURN OFF BLUETOOTH OR WORSE TO TRANSFER THE CALL TO THE PHONE - WHICH IS ILLEGAL IN MOST STATES REQUIRING HANDS FREE CALLS. THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN TO 20 MPH WHEN THE OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE WAS NEAR 95 DEG F AND THE ROAD SLIGHTLY UPHILL. A MESSAGE CAME ON THE DASHBOARD THAT READ LIMITED PROPULSION. MY FORWARD COLLISION MITIGATION (FCM) SYSTEM ACTIVATED WHILE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET GOING STRAIGHT WITH NO HAZARDS OR OBJECTS OBSTRUCTING THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS A CAR FAR AHEAD OF ME THAT HAD A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF EXHAUST (WATER VAPOR) AND IS WAS A VERY COLD MORNING. THIS WAS THE ONLY FACTOR THAT I SUSPECT TRIGGERED THE BRAKING EPISODE.
