2023 MINI COUNTRYMAN
Filed Sep 1, 2026
While driving a 2023 MINI Countryman on two separate occasions, the vehicle suddenly lost the ability to accelerate. Pressing the accelerator did not produce the expected power/response, creating a hazardous loss-of-propulsion condition in traffic; the car rolled to a stop each time. I was able to get the vehicle to a safe location, but the incidents could have resulted in a collision. There were *no* warning lights, warning messages, or other clear symptoms before the loss of acceleration.…
2011 MINI COOPER CLUBMAN
Filed Aug 28, 2026
The contact owns a 2011 Mini Cooper Clubman. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing electrical failures. Several unknown warning lights blinked upon starting the vehicle, the parking lights failed, and the power windows failed to operate as intended. The contact stated that the electrical failures were due to water leak in the front driver's side footwell and on the left side of the driver's seat. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact associated the failure with…
2007 MINI COOPER
Filed Aug 28, 2026
I recently purchased a used MINI Cooper with incomplete NHTSA Safety Recall 23V-337 involving the Footwell Control Module (FRM). The previous owner did not complete the recall remedy. The vehicle's turn signals and brake lights are currently inoperative. The FRM controls various vehicle lighting functions and is the component involved in Recall 23V-337. Because I purchased the vehicle with these conditions already present, I do not know what warning lamps, messages, or symptoms occurred before…
2022 MINI COOPER CONVERTIBLE
Filed Aug 27, 2026
I was approaching a red light on a road that is 35mph. As I was coming to a stop my passenger side window shattered out of nowhere. There were no people around outside the vehicle and as I mentioned I was going so slow, I can't imagine any rock kicked up would have done this. There was glass everywhere in my car. Fortunately no one was in the passenger seat. There was a small amount of glass on my lap as the driver, but I was unharmed. I brought the car to the dealer. They did an…
2007 MINI COOPER
Filed Aug 18, 2026
What happened: Vehicle has experienced failure of the Footwell Control Module (FRM) and associated wiring harness in the driver footwell area, consistent with NHTSA Recall 23V-337. Symptoms: • Exterior lights (headlights / taillights) remain illuminated far longer than normal after vehicle shutoff, sometimes not turning off at all. • Inspection revealed melted wiring, melted connector plugs and receptacles for headlight/taillight circuits. • Water was found in driver side footwell in the…
2019 MINI COUNTRYMAN
Filed Aug 13, 2026
My car is a 2019 Mini Countryman All4 S. It currently has 17,000 miles. I bought it new, and it has only been serviced by the Dealer. On July 20, it was in for an oil change, and they informed me that right engine mount was starting to tear and needed to be replaced. The price quoted was $1,135.83. I have owned many cars with a lot more age and mileage, and have never had to replace an engine mount. They said if I did not replace it, it would eventually damage other parts of the engine. After…
2015 MINI COOPER
Filed Aug 13, 2026
Anytime the wipers are on and the speed is above 50 mph, this car periodically applies the brakes to keep the rotors dry. It's an automated system that BMW's and Mini's have. However, for some reason, the vehicle now pulls hard to the right, which veers the car into the other lane. The brake pads and rotors are all new. The tires are new and the alignment is good. The brake fluid was just changed and bled. There is literally nothing wrong except for this bizarre system which is now only…
2013 MINI PACEMAN
Filed Aug 11, 2026
In September 2025, the manufacturer issued a component specific extended limited warranty(MINI ELW FRM 15Y/186M)acknowledging the Footwell Module (FRM) may fail after a 12-volt battery disconnect or power supply interruption. My vehicle was identified by VIN as affected. Beginning in 2021, my vehicle experienced recurring electrical failures consistent with FRM failure: three battery replacements (2021, May 2024, December 2024), alternator failure (May 2024), windows failing to operate, erratic…
2026 MINI COOPER
Filed Aug 10, 2026
The contact owns a 2026 Mini Cooper. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH with the AC unit engaged, the driver’s side window shattered. The contact stated that the window was not impacted to cause the window to shatter. The contact stated that the failure had occurred approximately 15 minutes after the AC unit had been engaged. The contact was able to drive to the nearest BMW dealer. The dealer did not diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer…
2011 MINI COOPER
Filed Aug 10, 2026
I am filing this complaint against Keeler MINI in Latham, NY, and MINI USA regarding their refusal to provide a working recall remedy or alternative transportation under federal NHTSA Safety Recall 23V-337 (Footwell Control Module Moisture Intrusion). My 2011 MINI Cooper suffered an active, total failure of the Footwell Control Module—the precise component identified in Recall 23V-337. The module short-circuited, creating a constant parasitic power drain that disables the battery and renders…
