The contact owns a 2020 Buick Envision. The contact stated that while attempting to reverse, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to respond. An independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic, who diagnosed and determined that the power brake booster vacuum pipe assembly needed to be replaced. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

The vehicle experiences a notched (hitching), sticky resistance at dead-center when driving over 55 MPH. It requires noticeable physical effort to break past the sticking point to both the left and right, causing jerky micro-corrections. Please check for any available reprograms or flashes for the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM), and check the electronic torque sensor calibration or replacement of steering rack and pinion. This is a safety issue.

When Brake pedal pushed all the way at end it barely stops vehicle. Almost caused accident. Safety seriously issue.

The battery repeatedly discharged and became flat when the vehicle was left unused for several days.
